달리기 할때 Pace라는 용어가 있다. 동호인들 사이에 Pace가 빠르다. 느리다. 라는 표현을 많이들 한다.
Pace는 1km를 달리는데 걸리는 시간(분)을 말한다. 단위는 minutes/km가 된다.
Pace 보다는 속도가 익숙한 저자는 속도로 변환 또는 환산을 해야 감이 온다. 속도로 환산을 그때 그때 해보는데, 간단하긴 하지만, 번거롭다. 변환표 환산표 조견표가 있다면 편할 것 같다.
누군가 만들어놓으면 많은 분들이 편하게 사용하겠다 싶어, 만들어 보았다.
* 페이스가 6이라면, 6분이라는 시간동안에 1km를 간다는 얘기가 된다.
이것을 속도식(거리/시간)으로 표현하면 1km / 6 minutes 가 되고, 분모를 시간으로 바꾸면 시속이 된다.
즉, 1 km/6 minutes = (분자, 분모에 10을 곱해서) 10 km / 60 minutes = 10 km / h
똑같은 방식으로
Pace 10 minutes/km = 1 km / 10 minutes = 6 km / 60 minutes = 6km/hr
달리기 할때 많이 사용하는 Strava, Sports Tracker, suunto, Garmin App 들이 속도와 Pace를 함께 보여주면 좋겠는데, 그러하지 못하다. Strava 에서는 자전거모드에선 Speed를 보여주고, 달리기 모드에선 Pace를 보여준다.
빠르게 변환해 볼 수 있는 변환표를 만들어 보았다.
더불어, 해당속도로 100미터를 달릴때, 아마츄어 마라토너들이 많이 달리는 5km, 10km 환산기록,
하프마라톤(21.0975km)이나 42.195km 마라톤풀코스를 달렸을때 어떤 기록이 나올지도 함께 표기했다.

안따깝게도 남자세계기록 보유자인 케냐의 켈빈 키프텀(1999년생)은 24세의 나이에 안타까운 죽음을 맞았다.
외신에 따르면 키프텀은 현지 시간으로 2024년 2월 11일 밤 11시께 장거리 육상 훈련 기지로 알려진 케냐 고지대의 엘도렛과 캅타가트 사이를 잇는 도로에서 그가 탄 승용차가 사고가 나 목숨을 잃었다.
이 차량에는 3명이 타고 있었으며, 그중 키프텀과 그의 코치 제르바이스 하키지마나, 2명이 숨졌다.
